"Olive" green M38
One good friend recently picked this up from another good friend. Nice brushed Camo paint and great that it is staying among a tight circle.

Hi, John
Interesting M38. It seems that the Norvegian Army use this type of olive green after the war on re-usued helmets. The rim are very hard cleaned ?
Hav you some photos of the liner and chinstraps, please ?

Unfortunately it certainly does appear to be painted in the color (and with similar wear patterns) common to helmets used in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria or Romania) after the war.

Here you go David. Yes, the rim wear is without patina, but have occasionally seen this before.

Postwar paint for sure. Interesting that even the brush strokes are similar between the two examples.

Good memory and search function abilities Steve.
Same color, condition, issues, and wear patterns.

Even down to the wear ring around the top. Indeed, great memory and search Steve. Tis my first time encountering one of these.

There was a great thread on the old GD forum looking at lots of M35, M40, M42 , M38 helmets painted in this colour. Shame we can't re-visit it

IMO, most of the current "value" of WAF is the tremendous amount of knowledge, history, and items that lies here regarding what WE have all done in the past. Otherwise to me, most of the current discussions in all of the sections bore me to tears, plus this constant rehashing of the same tired old fakes being presented time after time, with no apparent learning curve amoung most of the folks....
