I had the same Opinion in the Past but:

I own a Carbon Overprint Zeltbahn in near mint Condition which came untouched since the war from a Private Household, they had no Dust about it and it was very cheap. I canīt make decent Pictures at the Moment, so Iīll try to Photograph it next week and start a new Thread. The Problem with the Carbon Overprints is, that the CARBON PRINT IS NOT RELIABLE. The Carbon Print disappears in Rain or while washing. As I got mine I did not know about this fact, so I cleaned it as usual with a wet dark grey micrfibre cloth. As I washed the cloth under water, the water was suddenly black. I was rather shocked, because I donīt want to damage this rare Printing for Sure Fortunately I was careful enough and the Printing is still strong and present.

Interesting - looking forward to seeing photos - however I`m sceptical because of the reasons mentioned.
