Default Some displays (French/ANV)

Hello,

Some displays from my collection :

- wings of a vietnamese para from the Centre d'Instruction des Troupes Aéroportées en Indochine (ex 9e BPC)





- French paratroopers in Indochina (papers and uniforms)






- French instructor (the booklet is composed of sheets in French/Vietnamese)



- New National Vietnamese Army :


- A "Padre" in Indochina : Chaplain Chevallier.

Would you please telling me in details of the bar w/ 2 dragons n a flag in the midle.What is it ? was it from King Bảo Đại dynasty ? many thks in advance.

This bar is an instructor strip, worn by the French advisors, members of the French Military Mission to the Vietnamese Government. They were in charge of the training of Vietnamese troops in the vietnamese military schools and units.

Great stuff mate!

The Père Chevallier (famous airborne chaplain) ID card is amazing!

Found on the net, here is a nice pic of the advisor insignia worn on the wrong side by a french cadre of the 5th BPVN during the 1954 french national day parade in Hanoi.


Caymai, you could find this insignia in the two versions : metal or bullion.

A big grouping of papers/maps/booklets from a French Instructor in Dalat School, 1954-1956 - somes letters come from the US Military Mission/TRIM.

The Vietnamese Navy : have you ever seen this rank brass insignia (local made ?)
