Default a KIA GI helmet from 103th Infantry Division.

Here the M1 helmet from a KIA GI in northern Alsace. The soldier was in the 410th infantry 103th infantry division. Robert E Wear was KIA at January 26th 1945.

Interesting and historical M1 helmet thanks for sharing..looking for other photos (front, inside, ecc) as well as for other details of the GI..

My great Uncle served with the 103...became a guest of Der Fuhrer on Jan 20 at Rothbach France..hosted by the Reinhard Heydrich SS Mt troops ..RIP

I did some looking..they were NOT in the same company...one E and yours company F...my uncle served in WW2 Korea and Vietnam..Billbert

I would think the location of the find..local history brings a Division...and finally the last 4 numbers of his army serial number inside his steel helmet...billbert
