Default Post-war reel-to-reel machine Vollmer

This is a post-war Vollmer 166 machine (1956-1958). I got it just because there are so many similarities with the Wehrmacht Tonschreiber b1, including the tape reel mounts and the read/write head. Does anyone have any info about this machine? I hear this was the standard tape reel device for many recording studios and radio stations during the late 50s.

Some Vollmer machines were equiped by special (and unusual) feature - variable speed record/playback.
Vollmer was not expensive good standard recorder.
The period (1956-1958) super hi tech magnetophone was Telefunken M5 type.

CZ studios widely used Sander&Jansen type SJ100 within the period (and I was familiar with it). There were many similarities with the Wehrmacht Tonschreiber too.
