Default Rbnr dated Cavalry Boots

I bought these boots a while back and they just arrived at my Fiance's house. I am away in Africa so she took pictures for me. I was hoping they would be pre war dated but look to be dated 1941 '41' stamp above Rbnr so I might be selling these.

Can anyone tell me what the stamps inside might mean? Thank you.

Hello,

I can only manage to see the 27 1/2 and 5. Those would be the length of the sole and the width, so size dimension. A 27 1/2
would be about an European 42. That 17 might be the batch.

Default Cavalry Boots

Hi.
The boot markings seem to be size markings from my experience.
27 and a half is the length and the 5 being the width as me6_130 stated.

They definitely are not pre-war and the 1941 indication seems to be there. Also the rbn number is also clear proof of them not being pre-war.
As my understanding is that the RB numbers, Reichs Betriebnummer, (National factory code numbers), were introduced in late 1942.
Is the RBN number on the sole of both boots? Sometimes boots were mismatched from their original pair.

You also should have the depot markings from what i can make out with 41 year of manufacture.
Also, there should be numbers marked on the heel irons with the left and right indication.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you want to sell them.
I may be interested.
Also, i have a pair of the pre-war version of these boots in nice condition.
Made with the softer early period high-quality leather.

Cheers.Deen.

If those boots ( original - no doubt ) have RB Nr than must be 44 made. No Rb Nr in 1941 , as it was introduced in Autumn 1942.

Thank you for the replies gents. Yeah, I never really thought about these boots being made so late in the game. I always though taller boots, no matter if cavalry, were more than likely early or pre war as a rule. Always something to learn!
