Looks to be a mottled camo m38 under the pith helmet, seems late on in the campaign too...

You have seen it before Walter, We discussed that it may be a Tunisian type camo, I will post a less "studio" photo, on my shelf...

I wonder which unit the troops in the first photo were with, interesting that there are continental and tropical sidecaps being worn, and what looks like a Zelt on the man on the eft, and gebirgsjager anorak (?) on the man on the right.
Also, if it is in Tunisia, interesting the unpopular pith helmet hasn't been dumped earlier. Hermann Goring fjr5 para's maybe , recent arrivals ?

Nice combat helmet ! One day I also considered buying it Looks like some spots of another very light yellow or even winter white visible under main tan camo...Definitely it has seen a lot of actions and one of the best among similar..
Also note hard worn chinstrap, one of the evidences it was catched many times to the belt like many other DAK helmets because of the heat..
