Default Question about authenticity - WWI German commemorative knife/bayonet

Hi guys,
I would like to ask your opinion on this WWI German commemorative knife. The eagle's head looks like a bad modern moulding, even I noticed a pores. The blade etching also looks doubtful.

Any opinions are welcome, thanks !

The piece looks like a extra dress bayonet with commerative etch could be done already postwar, or it was a gift for a soldier NCO that ended service, the knot is probably police 3R knot, so not proper there, the etch looks ok to me, the head and handle was used on present and shooting prices bayonets, possible here not extra detailed and overcoated with black paint- Cheaper variant the frog looks like a dress and personal design made. Most real wooden chequerred grips with Wilhelm II Rex emblem. About the scabbard hard to say, it would be nice to see it out of frog. Unfortunally someone sharpened the blade. b.r.Andy

I have always thought that the level of quality was much better on Third Reich edged weapons than those of Imperial, WW1, or Weimar periods. Any period for that matter. Charlie

Sorry, but I feel the exact opposite. Imperial , WWI, far superior IMO.

Thanks to all who commented !

Now, when I saw your magnificent specimens, I slowly started to get myself frustrated.... :-)

By the way, the seller realized that we were discussing his knife and stopped selling it.

Thank you for showing me your beautiful examples !
