Default SS Narva Stab

Hi,

I recently bought this beautiful picture from the Estand and am very oleased with it. On the back it only states "Narwa Stab".
Of course I would like to know if somebody can ID these SS officers.
I do not think they're from "Nederland" but think they're from "Nordland".

Comments are welcome

Regards
Peter

Nordland could be for sure, as there were many other pictures included in the same grouping of Nordland soldiers!

I saw these photos for sale and believed that they were a set showing the Estonians in training and this was the Stab of Battailon " NARVA ", although i don't recognise any of the Officers

Regards

Paul

This picture is taken in Estonia, but these officers are not estonians (20. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS). Yes, it could be Nordland.
Nordland had Norge and Danmark regiments , so ...

Thanks Xenon, so we can agree the picture was taken in Estonia and the men are from Nordland. I have a groupshot of the 1 Kompanie of Nordland at Narva, but the oficers on this photo are not the same as in this photo.

regards
Peter

Armeegruppe Narwa was formed 2 Feb 1944. As from 25. Sep. 1944. it was renamed Armeegruppe "Grasser". This eight months was a period then Armeegruppe Narwa was located in north-east Estonia. The snow indicates that picture was taken praobably between Feb. - March 1944. This is why I think picture was taken in Estonia.

... BTW, the Narva Stab (Headquarter) was leaded by oberstleutnant Kurt von Einem and generalmajor Paul Reichelt.

Commander of the Armeegruppe Narva was Johannes Friessner.

IMO Johannes Friessner looks very similiar to one officier (compare with the picture in wikipedia).

Oh I see so you are saying this is part of the Stab of Armeegruppe Narwa and not Battailion Narva ?? I doubt that the Armeegruppe Stab would have had this many SS Officers attached to it as it was a Heer formation a component part of which was of course III ( Germanisches) SS Panzer Korps

The Officers are nearly all SS and one has a training band around his cap which suggests to me that this is not the Armeegruppe Stab plus many of the photos that were sale with this one claimed to be Estonian volunteers in training.

Could possibly be part of 20th Estonian Division at Klooga ??
