Hi there, I am looking for input on this medal as to its authenticity.

Looks good ...aluminum...is the ring hall marked with number?

It would seem to be aluminum yes with its lightness. No marks on the ring.

It's a nice, original aluminium Luftschutz II, does it weigh in at +/- 16g ? Zinc awards weigh around double that.

I have one the same with no toning to the surface. Most I've seen are unmarked but have a grey shading ... here's examples of both.

Thanks for posting....I have always been interested in this medal. I don’t know what is it that gets my attention. The ribbon color, the aluminum medal or just the entire layout/design....it catches my eye. I have approx. eight of these medals in my collection...and some of these in cases. I found an envelope at a Stuttgart flea market years ago in a woman’s display case..and when I asked...she looked puzzled at me saying “but it’s empty”....I paid 1 DM for it. Again....I appreciate you posting this cool medal.

I’m sure that other collectors have their favorites and attractions.

Thanks, I went through a period of specifically collecting the Luftschutz awards too .. (please excuse thye fake award packet)
