Default 19th Century Bayonet Question

Hey folks

Is this bayo for an 1873 Springfield trapdoor?

It looks very similar to the 1863 Civil war bayos Ive own in the past. How can you tell them apart?

thanks for any info

Cheers J

The socket on the trapdoor bayonet should have a smaller diameter than the CW bayonet, but I don't know the dimensions off-hand. I may be able to find them if no one else can help.

I believe the CW bayonet has an ID of .770 while the 1873 is .730.
