Why isn't there tress on the collar & sleeve cuffs?

Good questions. I would give it a miss due to missing Tressen - which are the best part of a Waffenrock IMO.

I had already noted that ,I did mention it to Nick (GAMS1) in a email this morning but haven't heard back from him yet regarding it...
Seems a lot of trouble to change those boards over to a tunic that has no NCO tresse ,i'm wondering whether its just been removed
Love those boards
Cheers
Bob

And you might want to order some piping to go around the cuffs and a nice set of aluminum buttons. And get the rank in some correct order.

No..all are good in my eyes.....the NCO Boards appear to not go on the tunic unless "someone" stripped the tress off the collar and sleeve cuffs.

The boards look like they have always been on this tunic but i can't see in the pics any sort of removal of tresse to the collar, doesn't make sense t me

Thanks for your comments

It looks like a stripped ors tunic with added eagle and Ncos staps with something strange about the false buttoned flaps on the back in different material without piping and unpiped cuffs not allot going for this one

Hi Bob,
Lots of squirrely things with this one, unfortunately.

1. The shoulder straps should not have a pip on them since the Tresse is open at the end.
2. The aforementioned lack of Tresse on the cuffs and collar - which makes the tunic not match the straps.
3. The front and shoulder strap buttons appear wrong. They should be bright buttons on a Waffenrock, not subdued. Could look different in hand, but they appear to be subdued buttons for a field tunic. Possibly formerly bright buttons that have oxidized, but I doubt it. I have a couple dozen Waffenrocks I've collected over many years and none of them display buttons that have lost their bright finish.
4. I think it was mentioned already but the rear scallops appear to be made of gaberdine, and don't match the rest of the tunic's cloth. Never seen that before.

Just shooting in the dark, but perhaps it was a Waffenrock stripped/converted and issued to Volkstrum at the end and then post-war someone tried to turn it back into a Waffenrock? It's strange and I'm just trying to figure out why it is like it is.
