Default Polizei bayonet markings

I just traded for this bayonet today. It is marked St.P.V. Goslar.
I take it means Stadt Polizei Verwaltung Goslar? City Police Administration Goslar?
Thanks for the help
Can't upload any pictures for some reason

Terry,

Never seen such a marked bayonet but your estimation of the initials meaning could very well be right. Can you try to post pics again? If no luck, PM me & I can try for you.

Jwh,
Do you know if the State police had an administrative HQ in Goslar?
Thanks,
Terry

Its not marked with typical prewar police markings, full name of location is scarse to find, it could be a veteranen organisation piece or town police.
Stadt Polizei Verband Goslar, weapon nr.26
exist to this time Stadt Feuerwehr Verband Goslar.

Hi Andy,
I thought it was for city police by the markings. I doubt it would be for a veterans organization.
Thanks,
Terry

Hi
Nice bayonet with the Polizei grip emblem and a regular shortened blade. I don't know the units which where in Goslar but I don't think it is for a veteran organization.
Regards
Alain

After researching more is it possible that the abbreviation is for StaatlichePolizeiverwaltungen?

Terry, your initial interpretation is correct Goslar was a small municipality with a population too small to require a State Police Administration. In 1935, it was a Stadtkreis (town) with a population of 22,987 in the Reg,-Bez. of Hildesheim, Province Hannover, Land Prussia. The police was accomplished by a Schupo d. Gemeinden unit controlled by the city administration. So Stadt Polizei Verwaltung Goslar or Stadt Polizei Verwaltung Goslar is it. The bayonet was converted from clamshell and has the property number 26, so there were a couple dozen police in the town.
