Or, as American showman, P.T. Barnum once said "There is a sucker born every minute". I guess it was this buyer's time.

Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest also applies to collecting.

Horrible cap, with the "snake eating it's tail" piping. Can't tell if it was shill bidding, given the private auction format, often used by scam artists.
Good luck to the dumbkopf who bought this pos.

This one's not on ebay...but about the thread title "How Ignorant can they be?" The answer lies within this hat: http://snyderstreasures.com/images/h...nJagerHatF.jpg

How could one pay over a 1000 euros with absolutely NO insurance (no Paypal, no returns, nothing)... That still amazes me, but then again, that's what this thread is all about

It is impressive how many people think "WOW, GREAT DEAL!" and get ripped off. Sure, these finds do occur from time to time, but if they know what it is, chances are it's not a great deal.

Looking back now at the second sale of the first cap (or the first sale of the second cap exactly the same as the first) it only went for $350 or so. No second time fooling people.

How 'bout this one--take a Janke, cover up the lining with an old newspaper, and voila, it works--sold for 532 euros ($695)
