No. 1 Fighter

From "Part 100: Development story of fighter bomber “Shidenkai”"
Quote:
..... This company

This is a Kawanishi aircraft in Kobe.

It is a manufacturer owned by the Navy and has traditionally had a reputation for producing seaplanes.

The “Type 2 flying boat”, commonly known as the “Type 2 flying boat”, which is evaluated as the world's best flying boat in World War II, is also due to the design and manufacture of the company....
They discuss the development of the No. 1 Fighter (一号局戦). I'll not bore everybody, but cut and paste this page into Wiki Translate and you'll get a flavor of what they're discussing.

Thank you very much Guy! This would almost certainly be from the George fighter aircraft series - can't yet be certain if it is from the floatplane or land based model.

I think (type 1 fighter)一号局戦 is SHIDEN, japanese navy fighter plane.
Maybe this data plate was attached to Shiden's prototype.

Shiden Kai(N1K2J) is an improved version of Shiden(N1K1J).
1号局戦(Ichi Go Kyokusen) is the name of Shiden's prototype.
Code name of Shiden and Shiden Kai is "George".

Here is photo of 1号局戦.

AWESOME! Thank you very much. So from the discussions below you believe this is from an early version of a "George" IJN fighter aircraft?

Yes, your data plate is undoubtedly the data plate used in the George prototype.
George prototype is Type 1 Local Fighter(1号局戦 Ichigo Kyokusen )
I think it is a very rare item. Please take care.

Yoshiyuki
