Default WW2 Scottish borderers tunics

Hi guys again,

I am just sending a few pics of the ribbons on the uniforms and also the parachute patches attached to the tunics. Here are my questions

1. what are the ribbons on the bottom row?
2. Are the parachute patches real? I don't think they are ww2 period or real at all.
3. who is this Bunn fellow? Anyone got any information on this guy?
4. Ribbons don't seem old, are they either repros or replacements?

Thanks for all the help and information.
Jacky.

Thanks.

Jacky,

The ribbons are as follows: France & Germany Star; Defence Medal; War Medal 1939-1945; General Service medal 1918-1962 with Mention in Despatches oak leaf; Fire Brigades Long Service medal; British Fire Services Association medal; sorry I don’t recognise the last medal ribbon but would guess it is either Fire Brigades related or a medal issued by a Foreign government and associated with the GSM MID...

I am sure there will be a regimental collector that can tell you more about the tunic owner or have you tried a google search or regimental museum enquiry?

That said, they are of interest to me so please contact me by pm if they are for sale.

Enjoy the hobby, Keith

hello,

Pops, thank you very much, i was looking online about the bottom row and i didnt think it was fire service. Why would fire service ribbons be on a military tunic? I have made a enquiry to the scottish borderers museum at brunswick upon tweed. Cant find anything really online.

Robb, the first post has the link to the pictures. Thank you.
