Anyway, just to end on a positive note, I'd like to reiterate that I've met some remarkable people in this hobby, many of them I've reached out to through a forum like this. At the end of the day, it's our own decision who we choose to spend our time with.

Thanks for posting this, Tom.

Best regards,

Jason

Thanks for that Jason, This has happened to me in another forum just a few days ago and it really turns my stomach when it happens. At one time I was a German dagger collector and basically was turned off by these rude type people. I sold all my German stuff and went to US collectibles and found most all of them to be very nice and fun to talk and deal with. Awhile back I decided to get back into the German stuff because I really did enjoy collecting it, and what do you know the butt heads are still there on their stand being high and mighty.
I really think its up to us to be the bigger person and get these forums back to the learning and friendly atmosphere. Thanks to all of you guys that see this happening and voice your opinion to the benefit of the collector. I love to talk about our hobby and sure feel sorry for the people that are to good to help out other collectors.Of course not all forums are rude just some of the people.

By the way I am also one of the Helmet Junkies, no certain one or type just the one that really catches my eye. Named ones Get me excited about the hobby for sure.

I think the wrong way on helmet collecting is when you do not enjoy the lids you already have. I know this is normal, the collector always want more and more, and he forget to think about what he has.

There is an expression here in Brazil; do you know the cooler piece of my collection:? Is the next one.

So gentleman, love the pieces you have in hands and do not worry about the market prices. I think this way you will not going crazy or give up of your collection.

Default Helmets

IMO German helmets will always be in demand. They are a great design. Well made and great looking. With a personality of their own. True piece of history.

I do not comment on all the lids I see. I feel it is important to make an intelligent observation and I am always learning. There are some nice lids out there !
