Default South Vietnamese medals I think

They do not have the kind of fasteners on the back that I have seen on some of them; I do not know any except the VN service type ones. What are they and are they of any value?

Ron

Beautiful pieces. The fasteners were based on the ones used by the French.

In order (Left to Right)

Top Row:
Gallantry Cross with Palm,
Vietnam Campaign Medal,
Staff Service Medal (looks like 1st Class)

Bottom Row:
Vietnam Service Medal,
Technical Service Medal 1st Class

- These all look like in-country made pieces.

Thanks guys. Is there a site I can find out what they were for, and about what I could get out of them.....in case my son might be able to get out of them, should he want to sell them later on. I will be leaving all my things to him that I do not dispose of during my lifetime.

Thanks,
Ron

I don't know of any specific site, but a Google search of the name of each medal will yield more information. I also think all of those medals have Wikipedia entries.

i.e. "Technical Service Medal"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_Service_Medal
