Default Italian Tankers Helmet With German Eagle Applied

Could I please have help with this piece.

My questions are :

1. Is the helmet original?
2. Why is the German eagle applied?
3. Is the German Eagle original?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Mark.

Hallo cpmil

This is an eagle (fake IMO) used by the German diplomatic service.

I therefore do not understand the reason to bear it on a tanker crash-helmet

An imaginative jumble

Best regards

A spanish surplus tanker's helmet , very commonly found in the 90's , with a repro diplomatic eagle mounted in the front to hide the traces of the spanish eagle …
