Default Narvik shield opinions

Hi all,
Just bought this Narvik shield and was looking for opinions on it.
Is it real and why does it have that white powdery residue in some areas.
All opinions are, as usual, greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am just saying my observations:
I see that by the wreath on the bottom where the swastika is is very soft in detail. The propeller also around the center right after the circle, (Don't know the technical name of that) and the Anchor where it is closest to the peak of the bottom of the shield on all seem a bit faint and weak in the cast. These are just my opinions. I am not too keen but I look forward to what other, more experienced people have to say.

Best Regards,
JustinG

I would say this is an original Deumer type shield.
As for the white residue, maybe zinc oxide. Can be removed carefully with some oil.
