Default POW Soldbuck

I have a POW Soldbuck that belonged to Hans-Heinrich Nibbe, Naval officer. Can anyone tell me any thing about him by looking at his Soldbuck, was he anyone in the Kriesmarine that would have been of value to the British, because of his service. Thanks for any feedback on him. Ralph

You need to show page 2 or any other pages with entries. This looks like a 2nd issue Soldbuch.

He might well of been used post-war in the GMSA (German Minesweeping Administration), an Allied (primarily British) controlled naval force that was used to sweep mines. It consisted of thousands of German sailors and a few hundred ships. The 2nd Division was located at Cuxhaven.

Thanks for your time and information, I guess it just makes sense to use the soldiers from the country who placed them there.

Oblt. z. See Hans-Heinrich Nibbe served as Wachoffizier aboard U-407 from 20.12.1943 until 15.06.1944.

I could not see clearly the FP Nr under the 3rd award but the readable FP's are for 32 MS Flotille, M 437 and one for U 333 (M 02500) if I read this correctly. Ian is the 3rd entry the UBoats war badge ?

The FP Nr. next to the U-Boat Badge (page 4) is M 40390 - U-Bootsstützpunkt Salamis.

U-407 was there from 12.3.1944 until 9.9.1944, except 13.4.44-10.5.44 and 21.9.44-4.9.44 when it was on patrol.

FP Nr. for U-407 was M 08300 (page 3).

The U-Boat Badge appears to have been awarded after his 2nd patrol aboard U-407.
