Default repaired MP38u40 pouch

Hello,

I have one MP38 u 40 magazine pouch which was repaired by leather.
I think this is LW original pouch.
Is it ok?

I have one question.
In war days, german soldiers reinforced magazine pouches by leather,
and might they use it?
