Default SS M-43 Cap - Original?

I have the opportunity to buy this SS M-43 from an old collection. I have never studied these caps, so I know little about them. This example sure looks good to me and I believe it is made from Italian material. My question is, is this cap original?

Thanks guys! I was pretty confident it was a good one. I like it because it shows some slight wear. Who would have worn these caps? General Waffen SS issue or were they for assault gunners or both?

Thanks for the additional information. Is the material, in fact, Italian material or simply late-war German material?

Sir,

From those pictures I would be hard pressed to be enthusiastic.
