A trivial matter, I know, but it did catch my eye.

Only 1 above the unit citations, not on the SB's as illustrated and must be an approved unit affiliation by orders which is transferable among all current reassignments.

The AM Has a number "2" or "3;" difficult to tell. On my end the AFEM device looks like a spearhead. I can't tell if those are CW5 pins on the greens-- I just assumed the greens were from the 90s and the veteran kept his set from the 2000s...

here is an earlier career pic of the Mckenny bar with devices...some medals were added later as he progressed in career.

CW5 McKenny was the Chief of Standards, Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization at Fort Rucker.

I'm pretty sure I've met him as his name seems familiar but I can't put a face to the name.

Based on his ribbon rack I'm guessing he was in "white ops" while in the 160th. He served in the National Guard or Reserve for some of his career.

Best regards.

Jim

Hi Jim, Any chance were you there in 85? I was a young Sergeant at Ft Rucker in 85' when C Co. 509th P.I.R. (Pathfinder) was stationed there in direct support of the WOC school establishing and operating LZ/PZ and DZ's. We had the 1st AVN BDE patch with an Airborne tab.

The good old days.

I got to Mother Rucker in April 88. At the time it seemed stressful. Looking back on it now it was all good times.
