For me a cast repro. There appears to be a casting seam around the edges of the upper wreath/crown in the 5th pic. The hinge also appears to be cast and the main pin is just wrong (definitely not period).

Seen these several times before , the quality of the ray burst on front is very poor .
I imagine people are often fooled by these .

I agree. Other than some loss of definition the other characteristic that I have noticed on the cast copies is that they tend to be noticeably heavier than the originals. I do not have the weight comparisons handy but I would say 30-50% more perhaps
