Default VN Special Forces Picture?

I've had this picture for quite a while and just found it again in the bottom of a drawer.
I'm not 100% sure but I think the flash is for 5th Special Forces?
About what time period would this have been?
I'm taking a guess here, but could this fellow be an Advisor?
About what time period did these guys use the M3A1 submachine guns?
I know nothing about the Special Forces in VN so anything you guys can do to help would be great.
Thanks,
Charlie

Default Beret Flash

Great picture! Not easy to come by, and very collectable. Any way we can see a close up of the beret?

Am I the only one who thinks that beret flash looks like an AATTV badge?

Australian Army Training Team Vietnam. Example shown is pinned to a flash, but there are also embroidered versions, although the flash in Charlie's photograph appears to be without the bottom banner. (Also top banner looks small, perhaps with only the letters AATTV.)

I would guess from his web gear that he is training the locals with the M3, but does not use one himself?
It looks like a regular SF DI on the flash?

This was most likely shot in the Central Highlands, USSF EM with Green Beret with Inlisted Crest.. CIDG forces asround a (A) Camp.. Time period any where from 1962 to 1970.. More than likely 1968 BILL

Sorry for the delay guys,

I tried to enlarge my scan and I just couldn't get the beret flash any clearer.
I was able to use a magnifying glass to closer inspect the crest. The crest has the crossed arrows with a dagger through the center. does that sound like an enlisted USSF crest?
SOG bolo ..I'll have to remember that... thanks for the pics, Bill

I can't remember the guy's name-knew him in SFTG-this pic and some like it are from a book with a Lot of SF in it-maybe Santon's. Will look for it.

I believe they are 2 corps Mike Force training near Nha Trang. That is gran sommet in the background as I recall.
