Default Unknown 350th Inf. Reg. badge

Some days ago there was on Ebay a grouping of 350th Infantry Regiment. Among other items there was also this 350th Inf. Reg. badge:

I have never seen this badge before. Does anyone have any info about this badge. Is it postwar badge, connected with postwar duties of this infantry regiment in Austria or Venezia Giulia?

Thanks and best regards, Sebastijan

Interesting insignia. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I will offer a few observations:

The crest and ribbon at the bottom are the DI for the 350th IR at least during the late 1940’s and into the 50’s.

The basic 4 lobe shape is the shape of the 88th ID patch. (The 350th was attached to the 88th ID, “The Blue Devils” during WWII)

The 88th ID fought in the Italian mountains in WWII.

My guess is that it is a reunion souvenir. The attachment and any maker marks might point to a time period.

I would echo Alen's thoughts on it. A neat piece though!

Looks to be mid 40's Italian-made. Not a reunion item. A really nice piece of insignia.

Looking at it on my computer, it is really high quality made piece - and as Kurt mentioned very early. We did have a large contingent that stayed in Trieste until well after the war. But seeing the back would really help tell us the story. Whatever it is, with all of the 88th stuff - I am just surprised that we had not seen another example out there.

I came across the grouping this was in on Ebay. I see where the grouping went for $1600. This rare DUI was probably at least a third of that value.
