Default LG650 Battery Charger

A couple of photos of a LG650, picked up this weekend from a vintage sale, seller had just cleared a collection of stationary engines, and had decided to get rid of those he didn't want, this "foreign" engine being one of them. Can't seem to find much info on the web about their use, only "part of the equipment of a kfz 72 funkbetreibskraftwagen" from this site, can anybody tell me more ?
Thanks Gary

The LG650 would probably be carried by maintenance and supply units, the Kfz72 used a GG400 (Funkwürfel). The difference between a GG and a LG is that the former has a current regulator which allows it to be connected to a vehicle's electrical system while a LG is unregulated.

The LG650 was used with a Ladetafel c on 65 V or a Ladetafel e on 15 Volt. The higher voltage allows a number of 12V batteries to be charged at the same time in series, individual communication vehicles simply did not have the need for this capacity.
