Andi,
Very nice RB numbered pair. I have one of each style, unissued, in my collection.
I will try to post some photos later.

Nice boots Andi! Heres pics of a similar pair i got from Gerard (thanks again, btw). Anyone have any idea whether these were special issue or intended to replace the regular lowboots?? As with many late items I have never seen any period reference to these in wear.

Andi,
I think the last named model was the M43, but I have named your type the M44 also. I really only see them dated 1944 and, like yours 1945. There are 2 different types of this "M44" low boot. The first, like yours, has the gebirgs style nailed heel. The other has the standard style heel. The style with the gebirgs heel has a pull strap on the outside rear ankle. The standard sole type does not, just a sewn down strip. Normally, both styles have 6 eyelets. Here are the 2 different soles from the boots in my collection.

M37s from my collection, I AM TRYING to limit myself. I am going to sell a few pairs this week (not these), that I have extra. The pair with the gray uppers and the cordovan pair, are both unique. Bottom corner, right is an unissued pair of 1941 hybrid between lowboots and mountain boots. I have looked at 3 pair and also another forum member has stated that all were dated 1941. They have traits of both low boots and mountain boots.
