Default Y-strap with strange rear strap

Hello,

Is the rear strap on these early y-straps incorrect? It looks too short. I suspect it is actually a tornister strap? Was this commonly used on y-straps during the war or no?

Thank you

It indeed is a Tornister strap and not an Y strap one......

These are often mounted (post war) to sell them as a complete set...... (which it is not)
