I spray several coats of Dull Cote onto my vehicles after the paint has dried for 24 hours.

I do as well.
Tim, if you apply the first coat very lightly, you don't have to wait for 24 hrs.
Ralph.

Kevin,
I used a lot of stuff from AMMO. They are based in Spain but his products are
available from lots of hobby dealers. Perhaps he can be of help.

I have used Humbrol / Airfix spray varnishes, which are one of the main brands in the UK. Usually the matt finish, but I also use a gloss brush-on varnish to hit weathered areas on the tracks or wheels to imitate wet mud.
