Thanks guys. Matt, that sounds like a lot of work

Richard, I have never seen an EK2 by Wilh. Hammesfahr, Soligen. Can you provide a link to a thread in which one is shown please?

Sure...
http://wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/s...ght=hammesfahr

They certainly made them but whether this is the cross is another matter. However, the cross is mint and in the wrapping tissue and hasn't been identified to another maker (that I know of) so chances are...?

Hi "STREPTILE",

Bravo for your list, she help me well.

I have an EK2 marked "333".

I have this award since 45 years, & I see this marking in 5-6 occasions in my country, but I find this marking nowhere .

Good or Fake ?

Thanks for reply.
Regards.
Carfin.

Thank you.

I will put some time and effort into updating this list with links and additions over the coming holiday.

I agree that the "333" EKs are fakes. If you've had yours for 45 years, they are older then I thought. But they are fakes nonetheless.

Have we been able to start a thread with the photos? This is such a good tool BTW thanks to all for the work that's gone in so far.

I've tried to incorporate all the changes I've noted in the last months -- new variants, marks, research, etc. If I've forgotten something, or if you notice an error or omission, please post here or PM me as always.

More links to photos to come as time permits.

Current as of 20 September 2012

Updates: Moved B-Type to Deschler (from unknown) as research has convinced me beyond doubt they are the maker; added Juncker core variant; added S&L mark variant; added Meybauer mark variant; added "24" mark variant; added Mayer variants; reclassified "Assmann Schinkels" as "L/54 or Assmann Schinkels"; added Schickle Schinkel mag and non-mag variants; added a handful of linked photos.

Moved Unknown Maker Schinkel to the bottom section on unknowns, as it was mistakenly included in Deschler.

Time to update this list. Apart from a few clarifications in the existing text, I am adding two new EK2 variants: 1) the very interesting (to me) Mayer Schinkel. Really, this type needs a dedicated thread or something, but I only know of one type at this moment. Also I'm adding 2) a "Lug" variant marked with a Z or a 2. Some great research by member Stefan K. suggests this really may be a Juncker mark, also very interesting news.

Please let me know if something is missing from this list!
