Default Rail car Adler? Help identification please

Was wondering if this was from a rail car? The eagle looks wrong. Anyone know what this is was thinking of picking it up from a local seller it's just listed as cast iron trophy.. Thank you.

Detail looks soft - it is, or is supposed to be a NSDAP eagle, but I don't like the 3 drilled holes. I am aware that the holes may have been drilled to hang it in a different way............What are the measurements

Hello,

Sorry, but I agree with John. The detail on this looks way too soft and I believe it is a cast reproduction.

This is definitely not a Reichsbahn eagle for a railroad car. It is supposed to be an early NSDAP/SA eagle that could be used as a wall decoration or as a stand up desk ornament. The one you show reminds me very much of the type that is available from Kelly's Military and sold as a reproduction for $29.50.

Maybe better pictures would convince me otherwise, but based on the image it is not looking good.

Here is an example of the $29.50 reproduction from Kelly's Military.

Best regards,
Tom

Here are a couple of originals. And even with the small pictures you can see how well detailed they are.

Here is the front and reverse of another original: It has a ring for wall-hanging and a swing-out stand for use as a desk ornament.

Wow thanks. I'm going to go in and get some shots of the back and hold it in my hand tomorrow. I'll post pics. Sorry about the huge one. I posted from my mobile.
