Default Polizei M43 cap for opinions/assistance

I've spied, what looks to me, to be an awesome example of an Officers M43 cap.

But, given that I've only dabbled in this sort of cap once before, and been burned, my expertise doesn't count for much

So, learned chums. Please cast your eyes on this piece of headwear and let me know what you think.

Many thanks

Jamie

I'll perhaps post it in here and also the headwear subsection for other boffins to look at.

IMO a complete fantasy piece i.e. fake....: Insignia bad; Edelweiss is Postwar, lining and marking bad...

Walk away would be my humble advise.

Not something I would feel comfortable with.

Agreed. TOTAL GARBAGE.

50 footer BEVo, Officer piping braided crap, and bent stem post war edelweiss. Giant TURD. These three aspects can be seen a a mile away, (or at least from 50 feet away.) Also the seam under the visor should not be there. And the ink stamp is unknown at least to me. This one is a total fraud with many issues.

Chaps,

Can't thank you enough for your help. Pretty obvious that this is not an area I am comfortable in.

Best regards

Jamie

Police collecting is difficult as there are MANY variations you will find. Some police items don’t look “right” to me because of the sometimes poor quality. And then they turn out to be totally acceptable originals. Whereas transversely, I’ve seen items that the quality was excellent.... but actually too good, and they were fakes. But then there are some items like this M-43 that we can all universally agree has no merit and is a “50 footer” as we say in the field of detecting fraudulent documents.
