Default DAK group in the upcoming auction at Ratisbon

Hi All,

I was looking at this group: https://www.ratisbons.com/30th-Conte...a31e21527b693d

And as I am collecting purely medical uniforms etc., I was ofc interested.

I know also that shoulder boards did not always fit 100%, but these are very much too big.
There is no medical insignia on the lower right sleeve.

I would think this one could have been everything, but not very likely medical.

I am not questioning the originality of the tunic and trousers, just the presentation with over-large straps.

What do you guys think..?..

Pictures by Ratisbon.

Best regards,
Hans Kristian

Yes, what looks to be an original small size tunic with large size shoulder boards.

The shoulder boards are definitely intended to go on a bigger tunic for someone with broader shoulders.

Based on those images only, the tunic looks to be an interesting, rarer hue of tropical brown,

Chris

I agree on the straps. I did not realize that this pattern tunic or those type trousers were still being made as late as 1944 or at least sent and dated to a depot as late as 1944.

I know that a large amount of 1942 and 43 dated tropical uniform items were never issued much less in North Afrika.

Another un-issued 3rd pattern with straps added post war. Nothing to do with the DAK.
Eagle may be replaced ?

Even m40 tropical caps were being produced in 1944, not to mention 2nd pattern tropical tunics.

Hi Mark

I think you just did

Agree the 2nd pattern was produced from 1941 to 1944.
The 3rd pattern such as the threadstarter was produced from 1942 to 1944.
Have not seen a 1945 dated 3rd pattern, yet ?

cheers

Tim

Agree -
I have yet to see one either - that doesn't mean they don't exist, that just means I haven't seen one, yet
Cheers!
