Default Torn.Fu.b1 remote control system - a question

So we all know the "Vb.K (Fbg.bf)" and the "Fernbesprechzusatz f." system for using the Torn.Fu.b1 from a remote position up to 100 meters away.

Here is a link to my page with almost all the pieces that I have:
http://battlefrequencies.com/accesso...fu_b1_Fbg.html

My question is about the large case (for the whole set) and a separate case for the cable spool. If the smaller case is used for the spool, how is the Fernbesprechzusatz f. carried?

Yuri

The complete set comprising of the control unit, remote station spool, HAP2 receiver, spool holder and handle are carried in a larger box.

The smaller box was used for an extra 50 meter extention reel, not for the remote station spool:

You box are in really good shape, Funksammler, comparing to that same russian dug up one. Yuri's reel is in the wrong box as markings doesn't match either:

Vb.k - Verbindungskabel
Vl.k - Verlängerungskabel

The rewinding handle fits perfectly in the clip and recess in the carrying box. In the photograph it is actually a bit moved back so that you can see the recess in the dividing wall where the wooden handle mormally sits. There are two pins that fit into the two holes on the reel. When the axle is stuck through the hole of the reel and the locking strip turned, it holds the crank securely in place.

Both the axle and the winding crank are unique to the Fgb bf, the axle for the small telephone reels is shorter. Also the telephone reel winding handle is different.

I have seen the smaller boxes also, but never a smaller control unit so it remains a bit of a mystery what was exactly in it.

regards,

Funksammler

Ah, I see! You are right, the "Abspuler" just fits losely in the box, there are no brackets to hold it in place. I guess the main issue is to avoid rattling of the contents (important if it is carried to the forward observation post when the enemy is listening). The handle does fit snugly between the cable reel and the sidewall of the box avoiding it to rattle.

regards,

Funksammler

Here is what I meant by using a remote control with the 15W.S.E.b

Can you use the same system with it or is there a special one made for the 15W.S.E.a/b?

Hi Yuri,

I think the large case is for the whole set and the small is for the spool containing the additional 50m cable (without Rufer, connectors, no bell, etc.).

Thanks Csaba. Does anyone have one of these extension cable sets available for sale or extra?

I still have the metal box and the hap2 from the foto. The cable reel I sold recently to someone who had the big box where it belongs in.

best regards Sven
