Jasiwasi welcome to the WAF DDR forum. That's a great NVA Paratrooper collection!

Your profile says you are located in the former DDR. Did you serve in the NVA?

In the photo with the knives there are two that I don't recognize. They are the top one and the third from the top (above the KM66). Do you have any information on them?

Kevin

No i don`t but my father and uncle served in the "Wachregiment Feliks Dzierzynski" until the End.

in the photo from the knives that one above the KM66 is also a KM66 but with a repaired grip (DDR made) and the other one ist a selfmade Kappmesser (i don`t know the word in english ).

Here are some other pieces from my collection:

these are modified braces for quick detach, the pads are from the RPG-backpack

my bajonets

here you see DDR made carbiner`s, jump bandage and cool-battery (for extra water worn in the FJT - pic below)

And here you see some Souvenir from the Paratroopers

Great stuff. I'd never seen the containers to cary extra water in the FJT. I'll have to add that to my list of NVA FJB items to find. Do you also collect NVA Paratrooper dress uniforms, badges, orange berets, etc? Or just field uniforms and equipment?

You will find these containers sometimes on ebaY-Germany, search for "Eis-Akku" or "Kühltasche" / "Kühlakku". Until now i only collect field-gear, maybe in future dress uniforms.

The containers are normal Civy Coolant Containers to find on the open Market.
Hard to open as the Plug is glued in and maybe not the best Idea to use it for Drinking Water. I don't want to know what nasty stuff they used for the Fluid.

They was sold empty - without cooling-fluid (cooling fluid was/is water). So its the same taste from a Feldflasche.

The problem with these things is, they don't contain only water. Some had Salt Water and some a Chemical Solution as they get colder than 0 Degree to cool stuff. Normally they go down to -10-15 C to work.
