I believe this was in the last HH auction along with other items from his estate.

Wow, that's absolutely beautiful. If I had only one piece of aviation history this would be it.

If this is from Hermann Historica, this is not 'direct from the family'.

That is a beautiful silver example. Having a piece that can be directly associated with the former owner adds a different dimension to collectiing.

Is there a record of the total number of Ehrenbechers awarded? Or an approximate number?

I double checked and confirmed that a goblet attributed to von Mulzer sold in the 1 May 2018 HH auction.

Description states: "....the goblet of honour and base are from the estate of the pilot, Johann Wirtz (a friend of Mulzer) therefore, it is also conceivable that this is the actual trophy that was awarded to him." (so not from the family)

The one in the HH auction also had the wooden plinth with it. I do not know if the goblet in the HH auction and the one that started the thread are the same goblet.

Goblet sold on the HH auction was of Max Ritter von Müller . But in fact, there were also a few items of Max von Mulzer, listed on previous positions.

greetings
Tomasz

I apologize. I knew there was something confusing with 2 pieces listed!

Thanks to both for the correction!

The other goblet can maybe from Max Ritter von Müller. Maybe !!

The goblet comes from the estate from Johann Wirtz !! and not from the estate Max von Müller !! (look Hermann Historica description)

Its only a story to make the price high by the auctions house !!

A few years ago hermann historica falsified goblet of Manfred von Richthofen were sold there ! And this was definitely not the original goblet from Manfred von Richthofen !! The real one was probably lost/destroyed in 1945 ! The original Manfred von Richthofen goblet you can see on historical photos !! Great different !!
