Austrian pilot's badge
Hello all,
I picked this one up recently and cannot find anything on the forum remotely close to it. Stamped C. F. Rothe, Wien into the reverse pin. Franz Joseph I cypher.
I found numerous examples of other Rothe badges and the reverses share similar markings. These badges are of course early 1900's so I'm trying to determine exactly how old the badge I have here is. Any ideas?

Hi,
I suppose, these Rothe manufacturings are later replacements, possibly even after 1945.
greetings

Exactly.
But still a nice jeweler´s work based on original Zimbler dies, I believe.
And the price should be ca. 1/5 of an awarded piece.

Hello again,
I suspected this was a private purchase replacement badge as it was certainly different than the awarded pieces I found on the forum. Thank you for the confirmation.
