I'm no expert in these but the big inscription R MARSCHALL looks weird to me. I'm not aware of any producer with such name and inscription is too big for maker's mark IMHO. The gold on the last pic also looks more paint than proper gold plating.

Valter, "MARSCHALL" is the medailleur, not the maker! These crosses were made by Souval.

Thanks Peter for clarifying this. I searched a bit about AH medal maker with that name and didn't find any.

there's nothing to feel worried about, with that Militärverdienstkreuz II Kl. m.d. Kriegsdekoration.

It's a piece to be proud of, in any collection.
