Prussian Mutze (Field Cap). It is missing the bottom kokarde and shows a lot of bug damage, but still very collectible IMO... if the price is right!

Hallo Bertholt

Nice infantry krätzchen coming in 1916 from the bekleidungsamt of the VI Korps. From 1916 to the end of the war it fought on the eastern front

Best regards

I wound up buying it, can anyone give me a value estimate so I know if I got a good deal? Only paid 40, no intention of selling but I’d like to know.

Thanks guys, my stepbrother just killed himsef and this is my first piece back in the game, I really appreciate the dear hearts and gentle people that inhabit the forum, kinda like a second internet family.

Really brightened my day y’all are the best

Can someone point me in the right direction to replacing the missing under brockade? Preferably on the estand? I usually don’t collect headgear but I want this one to look good enough to display, bottom should just sew right in right?

Thanks for all the advice guys

You can try ebay, estand, Weitze, Collector's Guild, Griffin Militaria, Ratisbon's and some others - not a hard item to find.

Value of it IMO around 200-250 usd in current condition. So 40 is indeed a good deal.

Cool item. I think I have a couple of cockades kicking around, if you want one.
