Senator John Kerry earned three Purple Hearts in Vietnam, all of them verified by independent investigation of official U.S. Navy records, which is three more than you. Kindly keep your politics out of this.

Doesn’t look like 100+ years old item, but rather like it was made yesterday (which it most likely was). Therefore

As a Yale graduate, Kerry could easily have avoided Vietnam (like George Bush, Cheney, Trump, Bolton and a host of other conservatives did), but he volunteered for the Navy, volunteered for Vietnam, and then volunteered for the most dangerous job the Navy had in that war: Swift boats in the Mekong Delta. Navy records show he was wounded by enemy action and treated by a Navy doctor three separate times. He was smeared by the same conservative whack jobs who smeared triple Vietnam amputee Max Cleland. Some people talk the talk, others walk the walk. And those who tell lies about those who walk the walk really piss me off.

Maybe you should take your own advice and keep your politics to yourself.

There are no politics in my post, only verifiable historical facts. People who did not earn a Purple Heart and who did not serve in uniform have no business criticizing those who did. End of discussion.

So why don't you do the right thing and actually post something about the real topic of this thread, the cover??? Unfortunately George made a distraction from the thread, and you turned it into something even deeper and more distracting from the original subject of this thread.

Did you just jump onto this thread to make the comments you did to defend someone out of the goodness of your heart since the mentioned person wasn't on here to defend himself one way or the other, or were you actually making an honest mistake by omitting/forgetting to make any sort of a yea or nay comment about the helmet cover?

Would you care to make a comment about the helmet cover, and tell us if you think it is real or a fake? By all means, please do so, as that is what the thread was about.

I'll throw my two cent opinion in about the cover: It's a modern fake/copy. And it's possible it was made with the intention of a reenactor using it.

It is an obvious, one-look, transparent modern reproduction. No "opinion" or "comment" was required.
