Default Enamel bowl DEF possible Oskar Schindler ???

Hi all,

I just found this bowl at a house cleaning and was about throwing it away. When i turned it around I noticed the maker mark. Now Iam wondering if the marking could mean DEF for Deutsche Emailwaren Fabrik ??? Also the grey / blue enamel could be a match ?
What do you think ? Maybe made for the civil market ??
Thank you, Jens

I'm no enamelware expert, but it sure appears likely that DEF would be an abbreviation for Schindler's Deutsche Emailwaren Fabrik. A huge co-incidence with the name & color of the products otherwise. Great find!

Thank you Mike,

yes I was thinking the same... sadly there is probably no one out there who can tell about what Schindler made and hwo it was marked. Speeking about cicillian style products.

Many thanks, Jens

Iam bringing this back to the top to see if somebody has knowledge on the marking ? Maybe there are some polish members out there who can sheed some light into that ?
One would think the logo of the Schindler emaile would be recognized by someone ?
Has anyone been to the museum ?

Many thanks

Jens

Friend of mine just returned from a visit to the Museum, he was quite disappointed as it appears to have little to do with the old factory and Schindler himself just mainly covering the war in general.

I was in museum few times but, they don"t really know what factory produced, there is no blue schindlers enameled canteens, I suggest to search on some civil enamel collectors grups or forums.

Hi Michael,
thank you. Have you seen others with this marking or anything else that could confirm the logo is Schindlers ?
Thanks Jens

Thanks to the others as well about letting me know about what can be seen about the factory.
Sad that there isnt anything more to learn from that source. I was always interested in this subject and thought they would share more details from production and circumstances in the factory.
