Agree with you John, I understand that maintain the web in different languages is not cheap, but at least the main information should be in English

Thanks Eduardo!

I am planning on going to Ranville earlier that week to visit the Merville Battery, so while we are there, I'm going to look for a good viewing spot for the 5th. Maybe we can meet up there too.

Very nice. That will be a wonderful experience for your son. My son was 12 when I took him the first time, now he is going back with me as a 27 year old.

Yes, I think its a great experience. I hope you haveing fun with your son! I showed my son the first episode of Band of Brothers so he knows a little bit more about what happend. He is to young for the rest or saving private ryan

I am looking for some series he can watch as a child before we got up there, but there is not that much for a 8 year old. (at least not in dutch or with subtitles.)

I have not watched these all the way through, so I do not know if they are accurate, but these might be good for your son to see. Unfortunately they are not in Dutch, but maybe you can translate for him.

The first time we were in Normandy, we also found an illustrated/cartoon book about D-Day that was really good, but I don't know where to find that.

Default Nowhere to stay!

I was trying to go but I've left it too late - can't find a hotel within 20 miles.

So find something 25 miles away. It will be worth it.

Default My R12

I was hoping to take my BMW R12 with me, I haven't had it on the road for a few years after its rebuild so its a risk doing the journey to and from any locations. I can just see me being stuck on the road side with a load of allied vehicles driving past taking the micky!

Maybe I'll hire a van and take it with me, trouble is the sidecar is too big for most hire vans.

You don't have a trailer that will fit your bike and sidecar? I have a fold-up trailer that is made to carry 3 motorcycles, but I use it for just my Zündapp with the sidecar on it. Here in California this a a must to have so I can transport the bike to other areas for a vintage ride.
