Default SS M40 helm - found in Russia

Hi,

I saw this helm in a collection. It's found in Russia several years ago.

All opinions welcome!

That tells all about person who found it ; simply robbed the grave ( without letting know about the find to german grave institution ).

The Russia black diggers are plenty and chance are it is from a black dig but there's a tiny possibility that it was reported but that the items were sold on as the authorities and historical groups don't keep everything they dig up. But if you buy it then at least contact the right authorities to at least let them know that the soldier's dogtag was found

Could just the same be two separate pieces that are put together to generate more interest for the item and up the price.
That is why collecting ground dug helmets with zero provenance or dig history is for me totally uninteresting. Often there is more fantasy story than steel.
