Hi Friends Collectors.

Two other pictures of those ice cleats

I ask a friend to publish pictures of his Tiger I ice cleats and track links from his collection.

Regards from France.
Stephane.

Haaa ... I saw one in a militaria fair one day ( Ciney ) but I didn't know what it was and I missed it.
But as the seller knew, the price was high.
And I didn't make a pic...

Default Tiger Ice Cleats ( Mittelstollen )

Hi All,

Just recently go my Tiger Ice Cleat and began by attempting to free off the spring loaded securing wedge.
After a good while of graft, heat, and sweat and tears I finally got everything free and dismantled.

As you can see the springs were totally rusted to bits and could not be salvaged.
Luckily I had just the right replacement type in my collection of bits and bobs.

Here is another photo of Ice Cleats tied to the side of Tiger 111

Kind Regards,

Pete

Default Tiger Ice Cleats ( Mittelstollen )

Just to carry on from my last post -

Picture of Tiger 821 with cleats fitted.

If you have not already got this Book then I would highly recommend getting it.
Yes - It's completly in German but easy to follow and has great pictures and facts.

I got mine from Amazon and to me it's worth every penny !

Kind regards,
Pete

Hi all..and Pete
I know all about the removal of the sliding piece
I've done three..two more to do
You might want to have a closer look at the old springs, inside the springs..there is a steel round headed pin I'm trying to use a suitable sized nail
If the spring doesn't have the pin.. it won't compress straight.
Good luck if you decide to fit the pin
Best regards...Ian "feind-Hort-mit"

Default Ice cleat pins

Thanks for the information about the pins Ian

Have you got any pictures of yours you could show us ?
I will certainly add some to my ice cleat - I always try to achieve as close to the original as possible where I can.

Kind regards,
Pete.

Photos should be up tonight Pete
Luckily one of the sliders came out very easily, with the springs and pins still in one piece..unfortunately the springs didn't make it
