update
Well, its been a while but having finished one of my other projects, I decided to finish this one before I start another. Its not finished yet but is highly enjoyable to do. Next I intend to manufacture the mg34 and the 2cm kwk30 mounts and this where I could do with some help. I have an MG34 so there is no problem there however I do not have access to the 2cm KWK 30. If there is anyone who has one or has access to a 2cm KWK30 and feels like helping I could do with some straight on pictures of the breech, top, bottom, sides and rear and some dimensions. I have all the dimensions for the barrel its just the breech area.
I hope you like what you see so far.
Jon

And that's it for now. If you can help with pictures of the 2cm KWK 30 breech then everything will be greatly appreciated.

I literally screeched with excitement when I opened this thread...
I so can't want to see this progress! We have a fab shop attached to our office and I have soooo thought about doing this very thing.. though I completely lack the skill. Never seems to stop the dreaming though!
Keep it up! Can't wait to see more!

Thanks for the information Gran Sasso and it does and doesn't. I have been researching this for quite a while and I think that anything that is on the net I have. The dimensions for the barrel of the 2cm come from one of the 1/6 forums where someone has measured a real one and I was sort of hoping that someone here could do the same but no luck. I could get a model 2cm but the manufacturers have to make certain sections bigger on models than originals so that they are strong enough. The answer I think, is a visit to the Tank museum in the near future, 6 1/2 hours away. I have just completed the mantlet vision covers and will post some pictures at the weekend, once I have thawed out.
Thanks again,
Jon

I see - Bovington is alsways worth a visit Hopefully they would let you inside.
At the german tank museum at Munster they have a turret on display the way you could look inside, pics to be found on the net.
You can contact them asking for help, sometimes they do. If you need help contacting let me know.

Have any of you got the "German tank interiors" dvd, if not and you are into tanks, get it. Its probably the best source of information other than having access to the actual tank.
