As far as I know only for higher ranks serving in the ministry of defence e.g.

http://www.swg-hamburg.de/Bucher/WU_...2015_-002-.pdf

All others (Offiziere, Feldwebel) you can find occasionally in the unit's chronicle as far as the do exist. Do you know the unit of the officers you're looking for?

The information I have now is based on a handful of images of a unnamed grouping of WWII and BW uniform Items. He was a Panzer Grenadier officer in WWII, and one of the earlier officers in the BW circa 1956 and a Generalstab after it was reformed in 1957. One of the tunics is the early pre 1957 double breasted type with Oberstlt. rank so he must have been fairly early. Highest rank on the BW tunics is Oberst i.G. He held the DKiG. I do not have the grouping yet. I am hoping it will be named and the seller just did not see the label.

Johnny R,

Good luck in your search but I suspect that if the tunic was named the seller would have noted that as it would have increased the value. There is no list, that I am aware of, for DKiG in the Wehrmacht who served in the Bundeswehr other than those who attained General or Admiral rank in the Bundeswhr

If the tunic is named if you post the name here I might be able to help you with further information on the individual from my library and archives.

Regards,

Gordon

Thanks, I also would think most people would look for name tags as well but am amazed that many people do not- especially US sellers. Two of my Knights cross named tunics were sold with no mention of the name tags and many others were named as well.

Johnny R,

So you have two named Knights Cross holders Bundeswehr tunics. I don't know anyone else who has named Knights Cross holders tunic other than myself. I would like to see them so please post pictures of these two tunics. If you can not post pictures on the site you could send them to me and I would post them for you. I'll PM you my email address.

Regards,

Gordon

No, I primarily collect WWII Army items, I have two WWII RKT tunics that were sold without mention of the name tags. I do not collect BW items, sorry that was not clear.

Johnny R.

Thanks for the update. A considerable number, my self included, of the members of this sub forum started out collecting TR artifacts but have move to the Bundseswehr because of the fakes and the inflated TR prices.

Regards,

Gordon

I have collected WWII and WWI German since the 1970s and was able to pick up many nice items from US veterans and then more when I was stationed in Germany from German veterans in the 1980s. Most the really nice items are now in life long collections, that is why there is a lucrative market for creating new ones. I was lucky and started when it was not so difficult of expensive.

Alright, so the mystery man is Oberst i.G. Theodor Boeckh, Hauptmann in Pz.Gren Rgt 63 DKiG, CCC, and Honor clasp. I have sent for his WWII service files. He went back into the Bundeswehr when it was reformed and served until 1978. Retired as an Oberst.

Johnny R,

That is the uniforms that we would all like to have! Would you post a close up picture of the BW ribbon bar please. Is the BW tunic named? If so, a picture of that also.

Regards,

Gordon

Here is an image of the ribbon bar. The cap has the initials "T.B." in it. The initials, awards, BW rank and position i.G. and the Panzer Grenadier wartime service only match one person. It took about 30 minutes to find a match in WWII awardee lists and then verify the Bundeswehr service finding a website on-line that gives a short bibliography for him.
