Very interesting photo. I especially like the power, antenna and interconnection sockets on the back of the desks. I wonder what the big receiver is in the middle of the photo - looks like either a Kw. E. a or an Lw. E. a. Since the other receivers in the room are Torn. E. b, then in all probability it's a Kw. E.a, since they had the gretest frequency overlap.

Notice that the student with the Kw. E. a is keying Morse Code. They are probably using the FF33 phones to connect to a weak in-room transmitter. Looks like the other students are receiving the code and transcribing it.

Yuri

Hi,

Thanks Todd. You have also posted some awsome photos on this forum.

Here's another pic of a field telephone exchange in operation.

Cheers,

Larry

Looks like the top photo is of a WR1/T or P entertainment radio. And the cabinet behind the sleeping soldier says "Schreibgerńt" or Writing Device.

The photo below, is probably of the same receiver.

Here's another photo showing German troops listening to a radio broadcast.
A Hitler speech or news from the front perhaps.

Time to bring this thread back to the top.

They are receiving the weather forecast with the help of a radio receiver at the Berlin-Templehof airfield.
