Default Trench Art? Shot Down Imperial Airman.

This one has me scratching my head, perhaps salvaged from the aircraft he came down in, would appear to be a ''cottage Industry'' production. All comments welcome

The downing of the Prince is an interesting read but this came with nothing else im afraid, recently sold thru my local coin dealer who bought the collection of a recently deseased collector

Pity no provedance at all. At this point just a neat ashtry.

If an Albatros DI still existed you might be able to see what part of the plane this one. My guess looking at some pictures it would be a square out of the cowling just behind the prop.

Then you could compare the dimpling on this itehm with an orginal part. They would be rather close. Of couse you would have to find an organal intact colwing for a DI which would be a very small miracle indeed
